AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani says Kaka is their No1 trequartista.
There has been talk of a new defensive role for the Brazilian.
"Nobody at the club, including the Coach, thought Kaka could play there," the general manager told Sky Sport Italia.
"He's evidently not a wide striker either, but after some experiments in a friendly and a forced change due to injuries, he returns to the trequartista role where he belongs.
"There was pressure last year too. Massimiliano Allegri is at his fourth year at Milan, so he's accustomed to the pressure by now. As always, situations are evaluated in May."
