AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is confident they remain the top club in the Italian transfer market.

"It seems to me that Milan can be considered the side that have done best in the market up to now," he told Gazzetta dello Sport. "I don't think any other Italian club has done what we have.

"We have brought back a striker in Marco Borriello who scored 19 goals last season and I don't think that is less important than a signing.

"Then we have brought home goalkeeper Christian Abbiati and purchased wing-back Gianluca Zambrotta and a great midfielder in Mathieu Flamini.

"Now we will see if we can achieve our objective of signing another great striker."
