AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani insists the appointment of new coach Leonardo is no gamble.

"With Leonardo, Milan want to retrace the steps they have already taken with Fabio Capello," Galliani explained.

"Leo was a great player and great director. The scepticism that surrounds Leonardo is inferior to that which gathered around Capello, who was defined as Berlusconi's butler."

To those who still consider Leonardo a choice imposed by Berlusconi, Galliani said: "All the decisions come to be agreed together.

"The choice of Leonardo is that of President Berlusconi and Vice-President Galliani. Leonardo was a great champion, he is an intelligent person."
