AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has managed to save Massimiliano Allegri from the sack - for now.
Tuttosport says marathon talks were held between Galliani and president Silvio Berlusconi yesterday, lasting over seven hours.
Candidates for Allegri's successor were considered, including Primavera coach Pippo Inzaghi, who is supported by director Barbara Berlusconi, Silvio's daughter, and former Italy U21 boss Devis Mangia, who is endorsed by club legend Arrigo Sacchi.
But, after exploring all options, Galliani was able to convince Berlusconi to hold back from firing Allegri, for the moment.
