Galliani admits AC Milan still to solve inconsistency

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits they're no closer to solving the team's inconsistency after Tuesday night's victory over Shakhtar Donetsk.

"The diagnosis is now clear - when we are given a little bit of space, we are devastating. Kaka is unstoppable and perhaps we only struggle at home because opponents sit back and soak up pressure," he said after the 3-0 win away to Shakhtar Donetsk.

"It is crazy that with the same line-up and tactical system we win with a wide margin away from home and then fail to impress our own fans at San Siro. It has never happened before."

Although Carlo Ancelotti has maintained the same 4-3-2-1 format, the Rossoneri are yet to win on home turf in Serie A this season, but have scored 10 goals in their last two away games.

"So much of our performance depends on converting our chances. We played very well against Torino, but were unable to make the most of three or four scoring opportunities.

"When the deadlock is broken, the opposition has to attack and that opens up space, which makes us very difficult to stop."
