Galliani admits AC Milan rely on Champions League cash to stay afloat

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits failing to qualify for this season's Champions League had a big say on their £60 million deficit.

"Osvaldo's goal cost us £33m," sighed Vice-President Adriano Galliani when referring to the ex-Viola striker's decider against Torino last season.

"If I had known that at the time, I would've saved money and just bought the player directly."

He added: "To have a balanced budget, Milan absolutely need to play in the Champions League every season and go as far as possible."
