AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says they're a step closer to landing David Beckham from LA Galaxy. "Over the last few hours we have made some progress and I am getting more and more hopeful," Galliani declared when questioned by journalists yesterday afternoon.

Talks are expected to conclude one way or the other next Tuesday when Milan officials hold D-day talks in Los Angeles.
