AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani has discussed last week's sacking of Massimiliano Allegri.
Allegri was replaced by coach Clarence Seedorf.
Galliani remarked: "For three years we came first, second and third, while we also went through to the Champions League knockouts four times under Allegri.
"However, this is the lowest number of points we've had at this stage of the season since I've been at Milan.
"The defeat to Sassuolo was the final straw, as we were 2-0 up after 13 minutes and lost. Unfortunately, Coaches are judged on results and in Serie A the results did not come this season.
"If there is a club that rarely changes management midway through the campaign, then it is Milan."
