AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says they're counting on Alessandro Nesta for next season.

Nesta is confident he's over the worst of his back injury and Galliani said: "Nesta is close.

"I have s a good relationship with him, we agree on many things. In defence we'll have Nesta, Kakha Kaladze, Thiago Silva, Daniele Bonera, Beppe Favalli and Philippe Senderos.

"Maldini not listening to me and wants to quit. I hope to revive our historical defensive pair of Nesta and Kaladze."
