Gale taking West Ham to court

Tony Gale is taking West Ham United to court.

The Daily Mail says former Hammers defender Gale has lodged a High Court claim for damages after losing his £60,000-a-year role as an Upton Park ambassador and consultant following the arrival of new owners David Gold and David Sullivan.

Gale is chasing £129,288.49 remaining on his two-year deal, which includes an annual £20,000 bonus agreed with former chief executive Scott Duxbury.

West Ham say Gale's contract was terminated because he released confidential information to a third party. Gale denies any contract breach and says he always acted in West Ham's best interests. He took guidance from Duxbury over information that could be discussed.
