Robbie Keane became the fourth-highest-paid player in Major League Soccer on his arrival at Los Angeles Galaxy from Premiership Tottenham. The Ireland striker has a base salary this year of $2,917,741, according to figures released on Friday by the MLS Players Union.
With additional benefits his total compensation is $3,416,243.
Galaxy teammate David Beckham is first with $6.5 million, followed by former France striker Thierry Henry ($5.6 million) and Mexico international and former Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez ($4.6 million).
The Galaxy's Landon Donovan, the highest-paid American-born player, was fifth at $2.3 million.
