Galatasaray are moving for Blackburn Rovers striker Benni McCarthy.

The Daily Mail says the 32-year-old South Africa striker has sparked enquiries from several Premier League clubs but they have been put off by Rovers' £2.5million asking price.

West Ham were the latest to show interest but their takeover has delayed any deal.

Galatasaray have identified McCarthy as their No 1 target after also considering moves for Ruud van Nistelrooy, Aston Villa's John Carew and Jo at Everton.

Although he would prefer to stay in the Premier League, McCarthy wants to move so he can improve his chances of playing in the World Cup.
