Galatasaray midfielder Harry Kewell has revealed how he turned down an offer to play at Barcelona. The Australian international, who is starring in the Turkish Super Lig, said incoming Galatasaray manager Frank Rijkaard wanted him to join the Spanish giants when he was at Leeds United but he opted to move to Liverpool instead.
"While he was at Barcelona, Rijkaard asked me to transfer there," Kewell told Galatasaray TV.
"It would have been a great event to play for Barcelona and to be part of that team.
"But I preferred Liverpool. I've rejected many bids to stay at Liverpool.
"It was my decision."
