Galatasaray president Unal Aysal has ruled out pursuing a deal for Arsenal attacker Lukas Podolski.

The 29-year-old has made 39 Premier League starts since arriving at Arsenal in 2012, failing to establish himself as a regular in the first XI.

"I asked Cesare Prandelli if we should target Lukas Podolski," Aysal said.

"Prandelli told us that Podolski would be a luxury transfer and that he isn't required. As a result we didn't pursue the matter further."
