Galatasaray are lining up a bid for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent.

The Sun says owner Randy Lerner aims to trim the club's costs and it is believed he will accept a fee in the region of £10m.

Galatasaray signed Didier Drogba on an 18-month deal last month but expect an appeal from Shanghai Shenhua over his truncated spell with the Chinese.

Whatever the outcome, the Istanbul club intend to press ahead and move for Bent, 29, who has been frozen out at Villa Park this season.
