Galatasaray move was not for money - ex-Man City boss Mancini

Roberto Mancini insists his move to Galatasaray was not inspired by a hefty pay check.

The former Manchester City boss replaced Fatih Terim at the Istanbul giants last week but has made it clear that he has not come to the Turk Telekom Arena in order to cash in.

"In Italy, we always think about money. It's clear that contracts are part of our profession, and they have importance, but I accepted their proposal because Galatasaray are taking part in the Champions League and they have a relevant history," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I'm fascinated by the idea of facing a new experience in a country that is a bridge between Europe and Asia."
