Galatasaray have made a surprise move for Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.
The Daily Star Sunday says Galatasaray viewed Carrick, whose current deal is up next summer, as a potential alternative to Felipe Melo, 30.
But they wrapped up a deal for the Brazilian this week after having their Carrick enquiry knocked back.
