Galatasaray defender Lucas Neill admits his sale by Everton in January came as a surprise.

The Aussie defender, 31, quit West Ham for David Moyes' side last September but moved to Turkey for £750,000 in January.

He said: "I always had an agreement with Moyes that if it wasn't working out we would shake hands and wish each other good luck.

"But because I was in the team it was a bit of a shock."
