Galatasaray have launched a bid for Newcastle United striker Papiss Cisse.

The Evening Chronicle says Turkish sources state Cisse is the subject of interest from Galatasaray.

However, it is unlikely that their projected €5million bid will be accepted by Newcastle United.

Steve McClaren will also not want to part with the No 9 unless he is replaced before the transfer window closes next month.
