Manchester City attacker Gabriel Jesus has defended Brazil teammate Neymar after his performance in victory over Costa Rica.

The Brazilian forward burst into tears following his sides later winner over Costa Rice on Friday.

“Neymar is fine. I'm a boy, he's a boy - a joyful boy," he said.

“He emanates happiness to all of us, to (the team) and to Brazil. Not only because of his football but because of him as a person.

“We have to treasure our idols. To treasure and believe in them until the last minute."
