Gabbidon expects QPR training to intensify under Hughes

QPR defender Danny Gabbidon expects training to step up under his old Wales coach Mark Hughes.

There was talk that some players were unhappy with the training under Neil Warnock and, while Gabbidon is keen not to criticise the previous regime, he believes a new approach will pay off.

He told the London Evening Standard: "Every manager is different. Neil Warnock was more old school with stuff, he has been in the game a long time. But our manager now is a bit more up with the times and uses a more modern style. He is a lot more in depth and no stone will be unturned. I know that preparation will be spot on for everything. Nothing will be missed.

"I remember playing under him for Wales, I'd know everything about the team we were facing, the striker I would be marking and the way we were going to play. His reputation definitely helps. From what he has done as a player that instant respect is there. When he is talking, you're tuned in because after what he's achieved, you know he knows what he's talking about. Everyone at QPR will become better players under him.

"Training has been very intense this week. The manager has been getting his ideas across and it's been going well. Everyone is fighting for places."
