Manolo Gabbiadini has been stunned by the reception of Napoli fans.

The Sampdoria striker is set to complete his move in the coming hours.

Gabbiadini was greeted by over 1,000 fans at the local airport yesterday - forcing the place to be shut down!

"I thank the fans for the welcome. I did not expect all this enthusiasm," Gabbiadini told Sky Sport Italia.

"It's a shame I wasn't able to embrace them today. I know Napoli, so I won't make promises and will do my talking on the pitch."

He added: "I'd love to score against Juventus in my first game, but the most important thing is that the team wins against Cesena.

"The Nazionale? Napoli comes first and everything else can only be a consequence of that."
