Fury return to winning as Adelaide's season falls apart

Goals to Daniel McBreen and Robbie Fowler have given North Queensland Fury a valuable home win over Adelaide United. North Queensland Fury 2 Adelaide United 1 Scorers: McBreen (NQF) 39th, Fowler (NQF) 66th, Cristiano (AU) 91st Crowd: 5,356 at Dairy Farmers Stadium Fury coach Ian Ferguson made five changes to the starting line-up which lost 5-1 last week at home to Central Coast Mariners, whilst Adelaide had a coach sitting in the stands after the touchline ban imposed on Aurelio Vidmar left assistant coach Phil Stubbins in charge.

McBreen opened the scoring with a classic turn and half volley which gave United keeper Eugene Galekovic no chance, capping off a dominant first half display by the new look home side.

Robbie Fowler unleashed a furious shot from outside the 18 yard box to score Fury's second, whilst Cristiano scored Adelaide's consolation goal in injury time.
