Watford are confident manager Marco Silva won't quit for Everton.
The Mirror says, however, the battle to keep the Hornets' highly-rated head coach is likely to resume towards the end of the season – because Silva has signalled his intent to join a bigger club by indicating he wanted to speak to the Toffees.
Two approaches from Everton owners Bill Kenwright and Farhad Moshiri were rejected out of hand by Watford last week.
And there was growing anger among the Vicarage Road hierarchy that the Merseysiders' refusal to take 'No' for an answer was tantamount to tapping up Silva, who is just 13 games into a two-year contract with no escape clause.
