Sunderland goalkeeper Marton Fulop is convinced his battle with Craig Gordon for the No1 spot will benefit both men.

"When I came back to Sunderland from Leicester I was behind Craig and I think I made him better because I was fighting for the number one-spot and pushed him from behind," Fulop told origu.hu.

"Sunderland are lucky to have two goalkeepers of a similar level. I'm trying to stay in the line-up but I think it's great that a record signing is on the bench behind me."
