Fulham's Keller urges Liverpool fans not to blame all Americans

Fulham goalkeeper Kasey Keller won't be offended if Liverpool fans carry banners of 'Yanks Out' for today's clash at Anfield.

Keller is one of five Americans currently struggling to keep Roy Hodgson's team afloat in the Premier League.

Yet while Keller might understand Liverpool supporters protesting against owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett, he does not necessarily agree with them.

He said: "Like it or not, every top club is now a franchise.

"Manchester United is the most successful franchise in the world and Liverpool are desperately trying to catch them up.

"I understand the fans' frustration with the boardroom situation at Liverpool. It's never going to be nice when you have two very wealthy businessmen fighting for control.

"But the nationality of those two guys should have nothing to do with it. They could just as easily be British.

"The fact they're both American is just something the supporters have latched on to."
