Fulham's new USA striker Eddie Johnson admits he was almost lost to football as a kid.

The former Kansas City Wizards star told fulhamfc.com: "I wanted to be a basketball player. Michael Jordan was my idol and I was living in a city where football, baseball and basketball were the dominant sports. Kids would always be playing one of these."
