Northern Ireland captain Aaron Hughes says Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has the world at his feet.

Fulham defender Hughes said: "There are a lot of good players in this squad but what gives someone the edge is temperament and composure. Jonny has that in abundance.

"I am convinced he will be around for some time with both Northern Ireland and Manchester United. He slotted into the United team as though he'd playing alongside Rio Ferdinand for three or four years. That's the type of player he is.

"He shows tremendous character and composure on the ball - I suppose that is something you would expect coming from Manchester United."
