The 20 year-old is currently playing on-loan at Birmingham City.
The Geordie's family, some of whom are still season-ticket holders at St James's Park, also keep him updated on matters back home.
"I still follow the Newcastle scores as well," he told the Sunday Mercury. "My dad and brother have still got season tickets. I used to have one until I started playing football.
"Now I am not involved with it all the time, I'm not as passionate as I have been.
"They are still my team though, I still support them. I still watch them on television and I still hate what is going on there sometimes.
"But the most important thing is getting points for Blues now."
