Fulham's Bullard cools England talk

Fulham midfielder Jimmy Bullard has played down talk of an England call-up.

"I have just come back from injury. My main concentration is with Fulham," he said on Sky Sports News.

"I would love to play international football. My Nan is German. I could play for Germany. I don't know where that stands."

Bullard went on to reveal that he feared for his career after spending 16 months on the sidelines.

"Injuries like that - you have a lot of hard times. But you just find a way to get through it," he continued.

"I didn't think I would get through it at certain times, to be honest. Yes [there were times when I thought I might not play again].

"I've seen it (the challenge that caused the injury) once and that is the last time I will watch it. It obviously does not bring back good memories.

"I just remember the pain. The pain was the most stand-out thing. I just couldn't believe it.

"It was a freak injury. Touch wood, I am fine now."
