Fulham want Montpellier striker Mounie to replace Dembele, McCormack

Fulham are eyeing a return bid for Montpellier's Steve Mounie after having their initial approach rejected.

Slavisa Jokanovic is determined to bring a new forward to Craven Cottage after Ross McCormack joined Aston Villa on Thursday, following Moussa Dembele's earlier move to Celtic.

Fulham have seen a £2.5million offer turned down by Montpellier but according to the Daily Mail, the Cottagers will be back with an improved bid in an attempt to lure the former Nice loanee to West London.

Fulham kick-off the 2016/17 EFL Championship season with a home meeting against title favourites Newcastle United on Friday night.
