Fulham urged to keep scouting Swedish whizkid Tidjani Diawara

Fulham are watching Swedish prospect Tidjani Diawara.

The Cottagers had scouts posted on the weekend to see Diawara, just 15, in Swedish Cup action against IF Elfsborg.

The striker could not help Rynninge IK from avoiding a heavy 5-0 defeat, but worked hard in his first-half display.

Rynninge coach Peder Hessel confirmed the presence of Fulham scouts after the game.

Asked about Diawara's performance, Hessel told Nerikes Allehanda: "He was completely cooked.

"It was a pity that he could not show a bit more, we heard that Fulham were here and looked at him. I hope they follow him for a long time, because today I think he was a bit taken aback by the gravity of the moment.

"There has been much written and talked about him recently, and it's not so easy to handle."

Diawara scored in the last round of the Swedish Cup in victory over Osters IF and actually made his first team debut last season for Rynninge. On the same pitch on the weekend was Elfsborg midfielder Anders Svensson, now 37, who spent four years at Southampton.

The 15 year-old is regarded among Sweden's best teenage talents and has trained with IFK Norrkoping of the Allsvenskan.

Fulham enjoy a close relationship with Swedish football and boast Swedes Alex Kacaniklic, Dino Islamovic and Muamer Tankovic on their books.
