Fulham upbeat over McBride recovery

Fulham are upbeat over the progress from knee surgery for veteran striker Brian McBride.

"Brian is progressing well and according to plan," head physio Jason Palmer told fulhamfc.com. "The surgeon who operated on Brian, Bert Mandelbaum, who is the American National Team's orthopaedic surgeon, was in Europe recently and we organised for him to come and visit us.

"He reviewed Brian and he was very happy with this progress thus far. As we all know, Brian is a very motivated and professional player and he is certainly pushing himself hard to progress as quickly but as safely as possible.

"At this point in time he is making progress on a daily basis. We can expect for him to improve along a timeline where he should be back in full training by the end of December. The ideal situation would be for us to have him available for selection for the last couple of game of this year."
