Fulham suffer late scare but progress in Europa League

Fulham will take their place in the group stages of the Europa League despite going down 1-0 to lively Russian outfit Amkar Perm. The Cottagers 3-1 first leg win at home proved sufficient for despite the hosts dominating throughout they only found the back of the net in the last minute by captain Martin Kushev.

There was still time for Roy Hodgson's side to suffer the jitters as Nikolai Zhilyaev blazed over in the final seconds from close range.

A goal then would have seen Amkar Perm through on away goals and call into question Hodgson's decision to leave behind Danny Murphy, Bobby Zamora and Paul Konchesky.
