Fulham striker Berbatov must wait for Spurs business ahead of return

Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov must wait for Tottenham to complete a mini clearout today for any chance of a return to White Hart Lane.

The London Evening Standard says Tottenham are keen to move Lewis Holtby and Etienne Capoue out of White Hart Lane before adding new players ahead of tomorrow’s deadline.

A loan deal for Holtby with Fulham, until the end of the season, is a possibility, which could pave the way for Berbatov to return to Spurs.

A cut-price 18-month deal for Berbatov, whose agent, Emil Dantchev, admitted last month was unhappy at Fulham, appears a likely option as the clock ticks down. Finding a solution for Capoue might be more difficult because he arrived only last summer for £9million.
