Fulham captain Danny Murphy has slammed Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy for his bust-up with a Manchester United fan on Sunday.

Wales star Bellamy has escaped an FA charge but Murphy said: "Craig Bellamy slapping a fan was crazy.

"If he was confronted directly, then it is only normal to defend yourself, but the fact that the stewards had hold of him, made his actions unreasonable.

"His emotions were clearly running high after scoring two wonderful goals but it was a silly error of judgment on his behalf.

"That said, ultimately, fans should not be on the pitch in the first place and incidents like this should not happen."
