Fulham signing Healy: I'll get Premiership goals

Fulham new boy David Healy has vowed to prove himself in the Premier League after sealing his £1.5million move from Leeds.

Northern Ireland's record goalscorer has played less than half an hour of top flight football in his career, but Lawrie Sanchez knows all about Healy's goalscoring exploits for his country and was happy to splash the cash on the 27-year-old, handing him a four-year contract.

"I am confident in my ability and I am confident that I will score goals in the Premier League," Healy told the Belfast Telegraph, after he joined Aaron Hughes, Steve Davis and Chris Baird at the Cottage.

"I could easily have stayed at Leeds or signed for a club in the Championship, but everyone wants to play in the Premier League and I am no different.

"I want to test myself against the best defenders in the world week in and week out.

"Although other people have doubted my ability, particularly during the two years when I wasn't scoring for Northern Ireland, I have never doubted myself.

"I now have a chance to prove my doubters wrong."
