Fulham signing Chris David admits he was disappointed with the way he was treated by FC Twente management.

David is regarded highly within Dutch football and signed for Fulham last week.

"I'm almost 20 years old and had to make an important choice in my career," David said. "The club offered me little prospects and in my opinion did too little to keep me.

"I wanted a fair chance and not to rely again on the promises of playing. I was hoping for at least a fair chance to prove myself.

"That was apparently too much to ask.

"I'm happy with my transfer to Fulham and think that this step is best for my development."
