Fulham sign Werder Bremen's Andreasen

Fulham have completed the signing of Leon Andreasen from Werder Bremen, on a three-and-a-half year deal that will see him at the club until summer 2011.

The 24-year-old Denmark international midfielder made over 100 appearances for Aarhus GF before signing for Werder Bremen in 2005.

He spent most of the 2006-07 season on loan at FSV Mainz 05 where he scored four goals in his first seven matches for the club.

Andreasen, who made his full international debut in March last year, told the club's website: "I am pleased that the two clubs have been able to reach an agreement to enable me to sign for Fulham.

"I enjoyed my time at Werder Bremen and am now excited by a new challenge that awaits me. I look forward to playing well for Fulham and competing in the Premier League."

Fulham boss Roy Hodgson was "delighted" with the signing, saying: "He has all the attributes to succeed at the highest level and has the desire and application to perform well in every game.

"I'm sure that he will play an important part for us in the coming months and I am pleased that we have been able to add him to our squad which we will continue to look to strengthen before this transfer window ends."
