The Daily Mail suggests that Fulham are showing considerable interest in Phil Bardsley.

The 28-year old defender looks set to leave Sunderland this summer after being told by manager Paolo Di Canio that he is no longer required.

"I think it's quite clear to everyone that I am not part of the plans at the club, so I'm just waiting and hopefully something will pop up in the near future," said Bardsley.

"There has been interest from other clubs, so hopefully something is just around the corner."

Cottagers boss Martin Jol is believed to be looking very closely at the English-born Scotland right-back.
