Fulham have sent defender Gabriel Zakuani on-loan to Stoke City.

Zakuani enjoyed a nine-game spell in the Potteries last season and Tony Pulis has now decided to recall the 20-year-old after losing Danny Higginbotham to Sunderland this week.

Pulis has also lost Stephen Wright to injury, while on-loan Jody Craddock is ineligible to face parent club Wolves on Saturday, so Zakuani should go straight into the starting line-up.

Lawrie Sanchez has let Zat Knight join Aston Villa but does not see Zakuani as part of his plans for this season.
