Fulham's Sidwell hopes to be back next week

Fulham midfielder Steve Sidwell hopes he is back in action when the Premier League returns after this weekend's international break.

The former Aston Villa man has missed the last three Cottagers matches with a knee problem but expects to be back for the home clash with Blackpool on April 3.

"We've got Blackpool coming up the weekend after next so I've had a bit of training this week, then I'll be in full training on Monday," he told the club's official website.

"I can get a week's full training in before the game.

"It's been a frustrating four weeks for me but I needed that time to recover.

"The medical team here have been brilliant, the rehab has been superb and they got me back fit as soon as they could.

"I feel good now, I'm just picking up my fitness. But I wanted to come back this week so I could get a full week done next week."
