Fulham midfielder Steve Sidwell admits he is already eyeing next season after being involved in a great finish to the recently-finished campaign.
The former Chelsea and Aston Villa man experienced a favourable final few weeks at Craven Cottage and says although the summer break will be needed, he has indicated that he can't wait for the 2011/12 campaign.
"It's obviously nice to get a break but after a while, you just want to get back to football," Sidwell told the club's official website. "It's a short career, so you just want to get back, get fit and get ready for the new season.
"It was good to finish the season on a high and a draw against Arsenal is obviously a good point. Obviously I was pleased to score - the goals have been a long time coming, but I've settled down and I'm playing regularly so hopefully the goals will continue into next season.
"I came to Fulham in January, so before then I kept my eye on Fulham's results, but obviously I wasn't here watching the games themselves.
"What I have seen from January to now is that we have a fantastic squad, a great manager along with the Chairman and the fans, and one that is hopefully all geared up so next year we can go up a step and finish higher than 8th, where we finished this year."
