Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer has rated Paul ‘Gazza’ Gascoigne as his favourite personality he has met in football.

The Australian international and former England great played together at Middlesbrough in between 1998 and 2000 with Schwarzer labeling him as an equally brilliant person as he was a footballer.

“Paul Gascoigne. I was very fortunate to play with him at Middlesbrough for nearly two seasons – he’s a fantastic person,” was Schwarzer’s response when asked by TNT magazine who he deems as football’s biggest character.

“He wears his heart on his sleeve and he’s a really nice guy. His problems off the field have been well documented, but the guy was also a maestro on the field and he’s a great person to be around. He’s a real prankster, a real joker, and a larger than life character.”
