Melbourne Victory are reportedly attempting to re-sign Adrian Leijer.

The defender has had a tough time since joining Fulham in 2007 and was sent out on loan to Norwich City last season and now the Victory have hinted they may want him back.

Leijer was a member of Melbourne's championship-winning side of 2006/07 and with a vacancy in what has started as a shaky defence, could be an important signing.

Reports suggest that agents were negotiating overnight to bring the 23-year old centre-half back to Melbourne.
