Fulham's Kamara delighted with Leicester loan

Championship club Leicester City have secured the services of Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 30-year old Senegal international will link up with his new club after travelling to Dakar for the African Nations Cup qualifier against Cameroon which takes place this weekend.

Kamara has made just 10 league appearances for the Cottagers this season and is looking forward to getting to a club where he can play in the first team with regularity under a top quality manager in Sven-Goran Eriksson.

"The gaffer tried not to play me because I was at the end of my contract. It's good for me to be here," he told Leicester's official website.

"At Fulham I was the second best goalscorer when I left, but the manager did not want to play me. It was his choice.

"I'm so happy to be here. It is a massive club with a good manager. When he called me I was so pleased.

"He called me 10 days ago. I am also a friend of Yak (Yakubu Aiyegbeni) and I thought: 'Why not, it is a good challenge'.

"I think I can do something for this club. I have to play good football and score goals now that I am here."
