Fulham's Dunn: Europa League win would get rid of bad World Cup taste

Fulham's Damien Duff admits tonight's Europa League quarter-final second leg clash with German club Wolfsburg could be the tonic to rid him of his World Cup despair.

The Republic of Ireland international admits he has moved on from the controversial goal scored by France in the World Cup qualifier back in November but believes if he can help Fulham push towards European glory then it will help heal some scars.

"In a way what happened in Paris in November is a distant memory now," Duff said.

"We've played so many games since then and they seem to be getting bigger and bigger.

"To get to a final and win would be just unbelievable.

"It will probably open old wounds in the summer when I'm watching on TV but it's been an amazing journey and everyone's enjoyed it.

"I haven't really had any time to think about the disappointment of not getting there.

"There have been so many games, especially in the Europa League. We've had some fabulous fixtures, both at home and away."

Fulham go into the match at the Volkswagen Arena with a 2-1 lead and will need at least a draw to progress to the semi-finals.
