Fulham midfielder Damien Duff has been sidelined for about six weeks after having Achilles surgery.
The Republic of Ireland winger has missed the past four Cottagers matches with the problem and it was deemed necessary for him to undergo surgery in a bid to fix the issue before next season.
"It just got to the point where one course of treatment was compromising another course of treatment," manager Mark Hughes said.
"We made a decision that the best route was to get it sorted."
