Fulham star Clint Dempsey admits he loves playing against fellow Americans in the English Premier League. The USA international told Fulham's official website that he feels a sense of pride whenever he comes up against a fellow countryman in England's top league.
"It's good to play against any American in the Premier League. They've worked hard to get where they are and play in one of the best leagues in the world," Dempsey said.
"Any time you get to see someone you've played international football with is always a good time. It's cool to play against someone who has worked as hard as you have to get where you are."
Some of those players include Aston Villa trio Brad Friedel, Brad Guzan and Eric Lichaj, Everton's Tim Howard and West Ham's Jonathan Spector but when asked who the next big star to come out of the States is, Dempsey was unsure.
"I couldn't say who would be the next to come over because I haven't been following the MLS that much so I can't really say," he added.
