Fulham midfielder Simon Davies faces up to five months on the sidelines because of complications with a knee injury.
The 31-year old recently returned to training with the Cottagers but it appears that the problem is worse than initially feared as there is difficulty with a bone in his knee.
Fulham boss Martin Jol confirmed the problem and said Davies may be out until 2012.
"Simon has a pretty tough injury," Jol said. "He will be out for the next couple of months.
"It is a technical thing. It could be four to five months."
